How to Make an Essential Oil Balm

Ingredients:

50 ml Oil (Sweet Almond Oil)
4gm beeswax (if using pellets, use 8 pellets)
Essential oil (3-4 drops)

Method:
Melt oil and beeswax together slowly in a pot over boiling water. Allow to cool down.
In small 7 ml containers put some oil/beeswax mix inside.

When you know which essential oil you would like to use, put 3-4 drops into the oil/beeswax in the small container and mix gently with a wooden stick (this avoids all the containers having the same essential oil and you can make some different ones from one batch)

Note:
  • All utensils and hands must be clean and dry before use
  • Wash hands after using oils.
  • Some people are allergic to oils. To test put one drop in the elbow crease, wait five minutes and if the skin is reacting or red, do not use.
  • Can use cooking oils like canola instead of the sweet almond oil, but avoid those with a strong odour.
  • Don’t mix more than three essential oils together at once.
  • The amount of beeswax or oil determines how firm the finished product will be.
